Who We Are
Independent technology and security consulting for organizations that require protection without compromise.
Independent guidance. Practical strategy. No product sales bias.
We help clients evaluate their current environment, align technology and security decisions with operations, and develop coordinated strategies built around real needs, not product quotas, vendor influence, or one-size-fits-all solutions.
Helping organizations make informed, confident technology and security decisions.
Our mission is to provide accurate assessments, coordinated consulting, and thoughtfully engineered system designs that improve security posture, support operational alignment, and strengthen long-term resilience.
Operational Experience
Our perspective is shaped by experience in high-responsibility environments where accuracy, coordination, and execution were critical to successful outcomes.
Practical Judgment
Education provides knowledge. Experience sharpens judgment. apexcdm brings both to the evaluation of risk, system gaps, vulnerabilities, and operational impact.
Mission-Focused Support
Technology and security decisions affect people, facilities, budgets, infrastructure, and daily operations. Our role is to help clients move forward with clarity, discipline, and purpose.
Veteran-led. Mission-focused. Independent by design.
More than twenty years of technology, security, and mission-critical experience continue to shape the purpose and approach of apexcdm.
Joshua A. Charfauros
Founded by Joshua A. Charfauros, apexcdm was built on the belief that organizations deserve independent technology and security guidance free from product bias and sales-driven recommendations.
Joshua brings more than twenty years of global experience supporting physical security, electronic security, technology infrastructure, emergency response, and mission-critical operations across government, education, healthcare, and commercial environments.
A highly decorated United States Air Force veteran, his background includes assignments supporting intelligence operations, nuclear security missions, secure transportation operations, emergency response functions, and the protection of high-value national assets in both domestic and international environments.
His service with the Department of Defense and national security organizations contributed to his expertise in risk management, operational readiness, infrastructure protection, and complex security environments.
Following his government service, Joshua transitioned into consulting leadership roles supporting large-scale technology and security initiatives throughout the United States and internationally.
His experience includes structured cabling infrastructure, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, audiovisual systems, public address systems, emergency communications, and integrated security technologies supporting critical facilities and mission-driven organizations.
For the past decade, his work has focused heavily on K-12, higher education, and government (CONUS & OCONUS) environments, where he has led planning, assessment, and design efforts supporting safer and more resilient campuses across Texas and beyond.
Independent guidance. Practical strategy. Better outcomes.
